Born and raised in the Fort Worth area, Jason graduated from St. Mary’s University, B.A. 1989, with high honors; Texas Tech, J.D. 1992, with honors. Jason has been licensed since 1992 and is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law. After law school, Jason served as a briefing attorney for Texas Supreme Court Justice Jack Hightower and then served as an Assistant Texas Attorney General and obtained one of the largest settlements in Texas history for insurance violations against State Farm Insurance Company.* Jason has successfully tried dozens of personal injury, employment discrimination, retaliation, and whistleblower cases. Jason has obtained several sizable sexual harassment verdicts against employers like Union Pacific Railroad, the City of Fort Worth, and the Star-Telegram, including the first sexual harassment jury verdict in Tarrant County.†Jason was born and raised in Tarrant County, where his parents still
live in the house where he grew up. Jason lives in Fort Worth with his wife
Jessica, their twins, and their black lab, Wooderson,
from the North Texas Humane Society. Jason had an idea that Fort Worth
needed a fenced dog park for families to enjoy with their four-legged
friends. So, Jason founded the Fort Worth Dog Park Association and led
the effort to establish and raise money to support the nationally recognized Fort Woof Dog Park (fortwoof.org), a fenced five-acre park where thousands of families visit every year and let their dogs run and play off leash. Jason is a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.Whether he is getting Fort Woof Dog Park built or attending the Democratic National Convention as a delegate, Jason works in the community and our political system to bring about positive change. Jason has dedicated his career to representing ordinary folks, whose rights are violated by employers, insurance companies, drunk drivers, and other wrongdoers.
